While Rybelsus is a daily oral medication, both Ozempic and Wegovy are weekly injectable medications.
Ozempic is available in 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg and 1 mg/dose solution for injection in a pre-filled pen.
Wegovy is also available in the same dosage 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg and 1 mg/dose solution for injection in a pre-filled pen. A higher dosage is also available of 1.7 mg and 2.4/dose solution for injection is also available as a higher dose has been shown to be effective for weight management.
Ozempic and Wegovy are self-administered by subcutaneous injection into the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm at any time of day on the same day each week, with or without food.
