The ideal candidate for hair transplantation should fulfil these three criteria:
- You have stable or medically controlled androgenetic alopecia, and
- You desire a permanent improvement to your hair loss, and
- You have adequate hair supply for transplantation
Examples of patients not suitable for hair transplant:
- Hair loss due to medications such as chemotherapy or an autoimmune condition
- Women with widespread pattern of hair loss throughout the entire scalp
- A tendency to form bad scars such as keloids
During your consultation with your hair transplant surgeon, they will assess your hair loss pattern, hair quality and the availability of donor hair to determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure.Â
