Although the long-term safety and efficacy of Orlistat for weight loss has been established, it is less effective than GLP-1 agonist therapy like Wegovy and Saxenda. It is often poorly tolerated due to its gastrointestinal side effects. 

The most common side effect is gastrointestinal discomfort, such as oily or fatty stools, increased flatulence and abdominal pain. These side effects can be minimised by following a low-fat diet while taking the medication. 

Always discuss potential side effects with a doctor or pharmacist before starting Orlistat.
