What is the history of Cialis?

Cialis (previously known as IC351) was first synthesised in 1990 in the ICOS Corporation, a Washington-based research company. In 1998, pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly joined the ICOS Corporation to expand the marketing venture of IC351, which was recognized to improve erectile function. In November 2003, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Cialis for the treatment of ED.

Lilly’s patent expired in 2020. This allowed for legal production of generic Cialis, commonly known as tadalafil. Generics have the huge benefit of being a lot cheaper.
